The role

The Water & Waste Administration Officer provides essential daily administrative functions to Council's water, wastewater and waste operations. You will be responsible for managing work orders, allocating tasks to the reticulation team and addressing customer enquiries regarding water usage. 

Additional core functions of the role include assisting with procurement and billing activities, developing and maintaining monthly preventative maintenance schedules, supporting procurement by creating purchase requisitions and preparing and submitting invoices and communicating effectively with customers and operational teams to support efficient and responsive service delivery.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and a proactive approach to their work. You will be well-organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will have:

  • A current Queensland C Class driver's licence
  • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support in an operational, technical or service delivery environment
  • Well-developed administration and computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

You will be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or have unrestricted work rights in Australia. Mareeba Shire Council does not offer employer visa sponsorship.
