The role
The Library Officer is a combined role performing the duties of a Library Assistant and a Customer Service Officer at Kuranda Library. The Library Officer provides high-level customer service, performs functions which assist in the smooth operation of the library service and supports the delivery of Council business at Kuranda Library.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focussed individual who is eager to contribute to our library services at Kuranda. You will have:
- Demonstrated high-level experience in a library or customer service field, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and resourcefully to solve problems
- A high-level of proficiency in information technology and library management software
- A demonstrated ability to communicate will all members of the community and external and internal customers
- A proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Prior experience in cash handling, payment processing and working in a local government environment (desirable)
You will need to have a current Working with Children Blue Card or be eligible to obtain one prior to commencement and a current Queensland C class driver's licence.
You will be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or have unrestricted work rights in Australia. Mareeba Shire Council does not offer employer visa sponsorship.
