The role
Located within our Infrastructure Services department, the Facilities Support Officer contributes to the effective and efficient administration, coordination and development of Council facilities by supporting the Coordinator Facilities to ensure Council facilities are efficiently operated, well-maintained and continuously improved. You will achieve this by delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining those relationships whilst escalating complex issues as needed and providing timely customer referrals, clear direction and accurate written correspondence.
You will create and maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to facilities operations, including preventative maintenance schedules, work orders, invoicing for contractors and suppliers, quotations and tenders in line with procurement processes. You will assist with facilities inspections to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards, prepare statistical monthly reports and assist with budget preparation and monitoring, along with other administrative support as needed.
What we are looking for
We are seeking a proactive and organised individual with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. You will have experience working within a local government or public sector environment, or a strong understanding of the regulatory and procedural environments in such settings. You will have:
- Sound knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, local government administrative processes, including procurement and contract management
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and corporate software systems, such as Technology One and ECM
- Demonstrated financial knowledge and experience in budgeting, financial reporting and financial analysis
- High standard of verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage diverse workloads and meet tight deadlines

- LGOA Level 3/1 - $76,720 per annum
