The role
Our Customer Service Officers are responsible for undertaking a range of administrative and customer service functions to meet the expectations of Council and the needs of our customers and community. Located at our Rankin Street office in Mareeba, the Casual Customer Service Officer will promote a customer-first focus by providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers and assisting with a range of queries either face-to-face, in a busy call centre or online via email. This is a casual position and as such, the hours of work will be on an 'as required' basis.
What we are looking for
This role requires you to have well-developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and resourcefully to solve problems, resolve conflict and deal with challenging customers. You will have demonstrated experience in customer service delivery in a high-demand environment, along with demonstrated experience in undertaking administrative support tasks. A high resilience level and the ability to work well under pressure are fundamental skills for this role. You will:
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to demonstrate strong computer literacy skills, with a strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Teams
- Be able to demonstrate your ability to touch-type with speed and accuracy and enter data with precision
- Have strong administrative skills and be able to prioritise your workload
- Be able to follow procedures, guidelines and directions to ensure efficient and accurate services
You will be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or have unrestricted work rights in Australia. Mareeba Shire Council does not offer employer visa sponsorship.
