The role
The Administration Officer supports the Governance & Compliance team to ensure the consistent and timely management of Council's records. This covers the entire life cycle including record creation, editing, retrieval and appropriate destruction, along with governance and compliance administrative tasks as required.
The position involves manual handling and physically demanding work from time to time. It is the responsibility of the Administration Officer to ensure they are and remain physically fit and able to efficiently and consistently undertake these tasks.
What we are looking for
We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong administrative background who is accustomed to working in a compliance environment. The ideal candidate will bring sound organisational skills, the ability to self-manage priorities and a commitment to confidentiality, discretion and sensitivity in all dealings.
- You will have experience working with electronic document and records management systems and the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Council's primary records management system, Technology One ECM
- You will have an understanding or developing knowledge of legislation and statutory requirements relevant to Records Management
- You will have solid communication skills, sound computer skills and accurate keyboard skills
- You will be able to work as a member of a team and constructively contribute to that team
You will be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or have unrestricted work rights in Australia. Mareeba Shire Council does not offer employer visa sponsorship.
